buon appetito.

i wanted to bring dessert to a house warming i went to this past week. initially, the plan was: marscapone and strawberry filled cupcakes dipped in ganache. but  after my batter yielded 7 cakes, not 12,  i whipped up this tart to conpensate. funny enough,  ended up liking this super last-minute tart waay more than my carefully schemed-out cupcake idea.  again, another reason why i shouldn’t abandon my full-time job as a procrastinator.

i named it my italian sweet-tart.  yep its cheesy, after all it has marscapone filling.

 directions.

bake two pre-packaged puff-pastry sheets according to box.  meanwhile, mix 1 8oz tub marscapone, zest of half an orange, confectioners sugar to taste (sorry don’t remember the amount, just so it’s sweetened) and a good handful of mini chocolate chips. in a separate bowl, make half a recipe of chocolate ganache, should include just 1 4oz. bittersweet chocolate bar. spread marscapone mixture onto 1 cooled puff-pastry half. on the other, spread the ganache. sandwich the two halves together and top with fresh whipped cream and fruit.  to make  fruit sparkly, brush on a glaze.   mix any clear jam (i had pineapple-apricot) with lemon juice and warm it up. finito!
